2012 Morgan Sports Cars EvaGT

Morgan was one of the first car companies to see the advantage of a bonded aluminium chassis to give rigidity but also to save weight. The 2012 Morgan Sport Car EvaGT uses a further developed version of the bonded aluminium chassis of the Morgan Aero SuperSports, a chassis that successfully competes in International GT3 Sports Car Racing. Compliant with European and US safety approvals.
2012 Morgan Sports Cars EvaGT
The Morgan Motor Company  has been making new cars all along. Morgan used the unveiling of the EvaGT sports car to again commit to releasing a brand new model every two years, with new niche markets in mind. It says the EvaGT is a four-seater coupe with a bit of “automotive theatre” aimed at young sporting families, while it also has plans for “a fun weekend vehicle” and, most intriguingly, an “electric sports car”.
The Morgan Motor Company is the last survivor of these British sports car manufacturers. Morgan sports car has a history of successful collaborations with German suppliers BMW, Siemens and Bosch. But Morgan also works with a number of young engineering companies in the United Kingdom and with world class British university research departments.
2012 Morgan Sports Cars EvaGT
The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance is one of the most prestigious automotive events of the year, and is drawing the attention of more and more high-end manufacturers. Count Morgan among them, as the company has just debuted the stunning Morgan EvaGT 2+2.
The Morgan Motor Company is in a good position to respond to this challenge because the company is small and flexible with a proven track record of fast development cycles. It currently manufactures one of the greenest sports cars in the world, the Morgan Four Four Sport. Morgan sports cars achieves this result with the use of the new Ford 1.6 Sigma engine coupled with a light chassis. Morgan currently has a young well qualified technical team working towards a potential 5 engineering PHD's, who will make full use of research departments at the University of Oxford, Cranfield and Birmingham City to tap into a technical knowledge network to make more efficient cars. This team is helping to develop a high torque electric motor twice as powerful as others of the same weight and size and a powerful lithium phosphate battery with a higher charge density to achieve the most efficient performance for weight so far.
The turbocharged, 3.0-liter inline-six from the BMW 335i sits under the sculpted hood and produces a healthy 306 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels by either a six-speed automatic or six-speed manual. Morgan sports cars expects a scamper to 62 miles per hour to take 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 170 miles per hour. With its top speed at 170mph, Morgan sports cars Eva GT returns an impressive fuel economy of 40mpg UK, equals to 7.0lt/100km and 33.3mpg US, and has CO2 emissions of 200g/km.
The first public view of the 2012 Morgan sports cars EvaGT will be at the 60th Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, California, USA on the 15th August 2010. The Morgan Motor Company will be taking orders worldwide with a request for a deposit of £5000 from prospective clients for an allocated build slot. The first 100 cars of a limited run are planned to begin production mid 2012 and the "on-road" price will be competitive for a car of this class.

2011 Perana Sports Car Z-One

South Africa is quickly becoming a hotbed for sports car development, with two new performance machines being announced in the country in just as many weeks. Built through collaboration between Zagato, the Milanese coachbuilders, and Perana Performance Group, the Z-One features a tubular and box section chassis with room for two passengers. Tucked among the exotica at Concorso Italiano  was the new Zagato-styled, Hi-Tech-built and Superfomance-sold, Perana Z-One sports/GT.
2011 Perana Sports Car Z-One
The Perana sports car Z-One is designed in Italy, powered by American muscle and manufactured in South Africa. The "Z" stands for Zagato, Chief Designer Norihiko Harada using the Italian design house's DNA to form a dynamic supercar.
The sports car Perana Z-One will go on sale in the U.S. through Superformance after its Concorso Italiano debut in August. American buyers will get an allocation of just 99 units, so you probably won’t be seeing one parked outside of your local trattoria any time soon.
2011 Perana Sports Car Z-One is beautiful. And the build quality is exquisite. The panel gaps put all the high-priced Italian vehicles surrounding it to shame. The styling is definitely that of a European GT.
2011 Perana Sports Car Z-One
The 6.2L V8 engine generates 440hp (328kW) and 430lb-ft of torque (583Nm) of torque, and redlines at 6,600rpm. That's enough to scoot the 2,630lb (1,195kg) car to 62mph (100km/h) in an estimated sub-4 second time. Big brakes - 325mm up front, 305mm in the rear - slow things down again, while unequal length A-arms, Bilstein shocks and Eibach springs at all four corners handle the curves.
The drivetrain comes from Chevy, the Corvette's 6.2-liter V-8 delivering 440 bhp to the rear wheels. The Z-One also uses the Vette's 6-speed manual gearbox, but the tubular space frame has been engineered in South Africa. Perana claims 0–60 mph in just 4 seconds.
2011 Perana Sports Car Z-One is the limited production, because the gorgeous body of each Perana Z-One will be handbuilt in Italy by coachbuilder Zagato and then shipped in pieces to South Africa where there are attached to the vehicle’s chassis. The Z-One's chassis has been completely conceived and designed by Perana engineers in South Africa, despite the engine sourced from General Motors.

car g-force acceleration

Maxximus G-Force is a supercar that has been developed by David McMahan and Marlon Kirby. With the acceleration time 0 to 100 km/h in 2.1 seconds, we think that Maxximus G-Force is probably the fastest accelerating car in the world. Maxximus G-Force acceleration time is even faster than the Bugatti Veyron.

Maxximus G-Force use a central mounted Chevrolet 7.1 liter V8 engine as its power and is coupled with two Turbonetics turbochargers.

VAUXHALL VXR8 BATHURST EDITION

VAUXHALL VXR8 BATHURST EDITIONWith the addition of a Walkinshaw Performance 122 Supercharger, the Bathurst S dispenses 560 V8 horsepower, compared with the standard car’s 431 horsepower, and produces searing acceleration throughout the rev-range and a spine-tingling.

In fact, the 122 Supercharger is so much more than just a bolt-on blower. The comprehensively engineered package also includes a large capacity intercooler, high-flow fuel injectors, a separate cold air intake and Walkinshaw-developed ECU map, while the standard manual gearbox is upgraded with a high-torque capacity clutch.

Aston Martin V8 Vantage

Aston Martin V8 VantageAudi claims the R8 is mostly built by hand, but for real craftsmanship, look no further than the Aston Martin V8 Vantage. Assembled by a dedicated team at the firm’s factory in Gaydon, Warwickshire, it oozes class and sophistication.

It’s less ostentatious than the Audi, but remains a stunning car to look at. As with its rival, the British coupé uses LED running lights and feels small on the road. That’s not a misleading impression – it’s shorter than the Porsche and not much taller than the Audi. And to improve weight distribution, Aston has mounted the powerplant as far back in the frame as possible – giving it a front mid-engined layout.

This format does limit cabin space. The V8 Vantage is a strict two-seater with little stowage in the cockpit. However, as with the Jag, it has an accessible 300-litre boot and an additional shelf behind the seats. This traditional GT layout serves the Aston well – as does the interior design.

With swathes of leather, a neat Alcantara roof lining and a bold, sweeping dash design, it looks a million dollars. But the finishing lets it down. The buttons on the centre console are fiddly, there’s too much Ford and Volvo switchgear on display and build quality isn’t a match for the Jaguar, let alone the Porsche or Audi.

All this distracts attention from what is possibly the best seat and driving position combination of these four cars, offering a near-perfect blend of comfort and support. This further increases the Aston’s feelgood factor, helping to keep it in contention with the Audi.

But the British car’s 4.3-litre V8 simply can’t match the firepower of the Audi engine, and only just equals the outputs of the Porsche’s unit, which is half a litre smaller. Nevertheless, 380bhp is not to be sniffed at – nor is the fact that 75 per cent of the 410Nm torque figure is available from 1,500rpm.

The trouble is, it doesn’t feel especially potent at low revs, only really picking up the pace once past 4,000rpm. That’s when the noise doubles and the exhaust note hardens, giving the V8 Vantage an aural tone to rival either German.

And according to the stopwatch, when driven flat-out on the test track, it’s not much slower. But somehow the acceleration never seems to have the urgent feel of the R8 or 911. The six-speed manual gearshift isn’t as crisp or positive, and the weighty clutch is hard work in town. The Aston, does, however, have very strong brakes – second only to the 911 in terms of stopping distances.

And it drives well, too. Placing the engine a long way back in the frame and mounting the gearbox in the rear, near the driven wheels, aids weight distribution and balance. As a result of that, and the Vantage’s advanced bonded construction that enhances chassis stiffness, the British car handles very well. The steering is sharp and accurate and there’s minimal roll or weight transfer to upset things.

However, the suspension isn’t as well developed. The dampers fail to absorb bumps as well as any rival, so the Aston doesn’t fully instil confidence and the ride occasionally becomes jittery.

Put simply, the Vantage’s driving experience lacks the last bit of polish that would make it truly great, and also help to justify the high price tag. Nor are equipment levels particularly impressive – you have to pay extra for xenon lights and cruise control, for instance.

Electric car's acceleration leaves owner charged up

Electric car's acceleration leaves owner charged upWith sleek but sharply curving lines, the Tesla sports car looks a bit like a pint-size Batmobile.

But Farzad Nazem, a retired Yahoo executive who drives one, is more "battery man" than Batman. The car is electric and fuels up with a three-pronged plug that inserts into a typical wall outlet.

Nazem bought the Tesla in 2006 at a charity auction in Atherton. The car, the latest prestige toy for Silicon Valley executives because of its ability to soar from zero to 60 mph in four seconds (and a steep sticker price, now $109,000) had just been introduced to the market, and orders were being taken. Nazem made the winning bid, $150,000, for car No. 66 in the line's "signature series" - a designation for the first 100 Teslas made.

Venturi Fetish 2005 Concept Car

Venturi Fetish 2005 Concept CarThe Venturi Fétish is the world’s first production two-seater electric sports car. It is produced by Venturi in Monaco. It will remain an absolute rarity, since the manufacturer is committed to deliver only 25 vehicles worldwid
Venturi Fetish 2005 Concept CarThe car’s acceleration is comparable to a normal internal combustion engined sports car, producing approximately 250 horsepower (180 kW), with a 0-100 km/h (0-60 mph) time of “under 5 seconds” according to the 2007 press kit. Its top speed is less comparable however, at 160 km/h (100 mph), which is respectable considering that it only has one gear. It runs at a constant translation of 9.58 : 1, with a torque of 220 N·m (162 ft·lbf).
Venturi Fetish 2005 Concept CarOne other particular attraction of the car is that due to the electric traction motor, the full 220 N·m (162 ft·lbf) torque is available at all motor speeds including from a dead stop, as opposed to the progressive delivery of an internal combustion engined car, where full power is only available within certain RPM ranges.
Venturi Fetish 2005 Concept CarThe company specifies the car with a range of 250 km (combined use). The batteries are all lithium ion accumulators, offering a complete recharge in 1 hour (under 30 kW three-phase) and in 3 hours with a standard grid thanks to its onboard charger.
